os x yosemite mac

Some Mac users might have been expecting Apple to confirm exactly when its going to release OS X Yosemite at its event on September 9th but the company didn’t mention anything about its desktop OS at the event. However it is widely believed that Yosemite will finally be released to the public in October. Before that happens Apple needs to wrap up its beta program. Today it has released new OS X Yosemite betas for both developers and those who are participating in the public beta program.

This year Apple offered the public a chance to try out its new software before it is formally released. The public beta program was opened up to limited users which were then provided Yosemite betas to try out.

On the other hand registered developers received OS X Yosemite’s first beta shortly after the software was unveiled back at WWDC 2014. Today’s pre-release version of the software is available for both developers and participants of the public beta program. They can expect to see nominal improvements in the software’s stability and performance.

Apart from seeding the new OS X Yosemite betas Apple has also released Xcode 6.1 beta 2 for developers who are working on apps before the software is formally launched.

Apple is yet to confirm when OS X Yosemite is going to be launched for the public, but whenever it comes out, it will be available as a free download on all supported Macs.
