It has been a while since Google released a new Nexus device, particularly a new Nexus tablet. We have already heard many rumors about a Nexus 9 which is reportedly being developed in collaboration with HTC. Word on the street is that this tablet may be released at some point next month. According to latest rumors, October 15th or 16th might be the day when the Nexus 9 is formally unveiled, we also get to hear about an expected public release date for Android L.

At I/O 2014 this year Google showed off Android L which is the next major update for its mobile platform. It has yet to receive its dessert-themed moniker but most of us are simply curious about its release date.

According to AndroidAuthority, which cites two different sources that are familiar with Google’s plans, the Android L public release is going to take place on November 1st. Before that happens Google will show off the software once again when it unveils the Nexus 9 presumably on either October 15th or October 16th, a date that has already been rumored before.

The sources are claimed to be credible yet this information must be taken with a grain of salt. Google has not confirmed up till now if and when a Nexus 9 will hit the market. Moreover it has kept mum on the Android L public release, so we can’t really be sure until we hear something directly from Mountain View itself.
