teague-01While planes are technological marvels in their own right, we guess technology can always be improved on which is what the folks at Nike and design firm Teague have done. Both companies have teamed up together to develop a plane which has been designed specifically for professional athletes in mind.

Of course there is no telling when their concept will be realized, if at all, but in the meantime we guess it could be worth checking out. To start, the plane will be designed to accommodate players who might be very tall, like basketball players, or who might be very wide, like football players. There will also be dedicated sections for sleeping, recovery, nutrition, and socializing.

However here comes the interesting part, which is where the plane can take advantage of the sensors embedded into the clothes of players. The data collected from the sensors can be transmitted to the on-board computers and by using that data, trainers could use it to help the recovery process for their players.

For example it could dim the lights to help players rest, check on their nutritional needs, and so on. The entertainment systems of the planes can also be used to review game plans and watch highlights of themselves. Heck, even the bathrooms will be given a hi-tech makeover by being able to detect hydration levels and can alert players when it thinks that they should be rehydrating.

It’s a very interesting idea, although we reckon that such a plane could cost a lot more than a regular private jet, but what do you guys think? Could such a plane take professional sports to the next level?
