nokia-uae-lumia530Earlier this July, Microsoft made an announcement of what looked to be the cheapest Windows Phone device ever released, in the form of the Nokia Lumia 530. This particular smartphone carried a recommended retail price of a mere €85 or $115 over in the U.S., being the latest entry level device which was positioned a wee bit lower than the larger sized Lumia 630. What makes this particular story all the more interesting is how folks living in the oil rich United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be able to pick up the Lumia 530 at an even more affordable rate – in a buy one, free one promotion.

Yes, it is strange to hear of the gulf state putting up such an offer, considering how well off the citizens of the country is in the first place. Perhaps Microsoft intends to see an explosion of Windows Phone handsets all over the Middle East, and would like to start with the UAE? Only time will be able to tell, as from this Thursday, September 25 onward, one is able to pick up the Lumia 530 for 410 AED (which is the equivalent of $110 thereabouts), and bring home a second unit for free – as featured on this Twitter announcement. This is definitely one of the cheapest ways to pick up a new Windows Phone 8.1 device.
