onedrive-10tbIt was earlier in the year when Microsoft decided that a change was required in the SkyDrive service, and hence it ran a rebranding exercise that transformed the name SkyDrive to that of OneDrive. Apart from that, the service has been improved across the path of time, and it has apps that are being updated constantly, in addition to offering free storage to those who have an Office 365 subscription, not to mention a slew of other features that are still being continuously introduced to turn OneDrive into a tour de force. In fact, the latest improvement made would be th increase the maximum size for a single uploaded file to 10GB from 2GB – now that is a fivefold increase!

”It is about time, too!”, you say. After all, in this day and age, zipping up a huge creative file could still result in a humongous size that will easily surpass the 2GB limit, especially when you’re sharing high resolution photos and Full HD videos. Apart from that, if you have every intention of letting OneDrive “work” as your central file service, large files will need to be part of the mix, too.

Not only that, those who are rocking to OneDrive on Windows will see that it is a whole lot easier to share straight from Windows Explorer – all you need to do now is to right click on a file in Windows Explorer, before selecting ‘Share a OneDrive link’, and you’re good to go. [Press Release]
