On September 12th Apple started taking pre-orders for its new iPhone models, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. After just 24 hours the company announced that it had received a record number of pre-orders. Sales started on September 19th and already customers have received their units in a handful of markets around the world. Now that the smartphones are out in the world Apple has formally revealed the out-of-warranty iPhone 6 repair costs that customers will have to pay when they bring their devices in for fixing after the warranty runs out.
There’s no need to be concerned immediately as all new iPhones comes with a one-year limited warranty. Customers also have the option to pay for extended warranty that covers multiple years, those who decide against it will have to pay out-of-warranty repair costs once the first year runs out.
If the display has to be repaired or replaced once the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus is out of warranty, customers will have to pay $109 for the former and $129 for the latter. Devices that require general repairs will require their owners to dish out $229 if they have an iPhone 6 and $329 if they have an iPhone 6 Plus.
Customers will only need to pay these prices if their devices are no longer covered by the one-year limited warranty. Those who have AppleCare will be covered for up to two repair incidents with a $79 fee for each incident.
