A couple of weeks back it was rumored that there’s a new Resident Evil title in the pipeline. The title was confirmed during Sony Japan’s news conference prior to the Tokyo Games Show. Today the official Resident Evil: Revelations 2 trailer has been released online. Several details about the game have also been confirmed and its release timeframe has been provided as well.

This is the sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations which was released back in 2012. The trailer for the new title was released via the official Resident Evil YouTube channel. It sheds some light on the new game’s setting and characters which include the protagonist Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. The daughter of Barry Burton from the original Resident Evil game, Moira Burton, is also a character.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be released in four weekly episodes. Players will be able to purchase each episode separately for $5.99 or they can go for a season pass which will cost $24.99. Season Pass holders will also get additional content which will not be available to those who purchase each episode individually.

Retail release of this title will take place once the four episodes are out, it will cost $39.99 and will have more additional content as opposed to the season pass. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC early next year.
