NX3000_015_Front-Filp-Up_WhiteIf you have ever tried to read up on black and white photography, it has been suggested by a few that you should probably try to capture your image first in color, before tweaking it into a black and white image in a post-processing software like Lightroom. The consensus is that with color photos, you get a wider degree of tones that will make your black and white photo look better.

However it seems that despite this, there are camera manufacturers out there who are looking to create black and white cameras. Leica was one of them with the Leica Monochrom, and it looks like Samsung wants in on the black and white fun as well. According to a rumor, it seems that Samsung could be thinking about releasing a new NX camera called the NX Achromatic.

Just like the Leica Monochrom, this will be a mirrorless camera that will take black and white photos exclusively. It has also been rumored to be based on the Samsung NX300 and will use a black and white version of the 20MP sensor found on the camera. A low pass filter will be omitted and is said to sport a full metal body.

No word on when the alleged Samsung NX Achromatic will launch, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information. In the meantime what do you guys think? Would a black and white only camera from Samsung be of any interest to you?
