Back at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in January Sony showed off many new product. One such product was the 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector. In simple words it can be defined as a projector that can transform any wall into a 4K screen. It can be placed right next to a wall instead of behind the viewers head, so no more shadows when someone cross in front, we can thank lasers for that.

Back then Sony said that the projector will be released over the summer. It has confirmed now that the Sony 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector U.S. release is going to take place this month. So far the company hasn’t confirmed the price but it was hinted back at CES 2014 that the price would hover around a staggering $30,000 to $40,000.

People who are flush enough to buy one can choose between a screen size from 66-inches to 147-inches. The projector’s own dimensions are 43.3″ x 10.4″ x 21.1″ and as previously mentioned, can be placed right up against the wall. It also has 4 HDMI ports.

Sony has also said that it will be making a portable version of this projector which will be able to project images that max out at 27-inches. The company hasn’t revealed official pricing of either projector and no concrete release date has been provided as yet.
