Blizzard’s StarCraft franchise is a pretty serious game. Sure, video games are meant to be fun, but due to the competitive nature of the game, it has been taken very seriously by cyber athletes over the world who are competing against each other in tournaments. However it seems that StarCraft 2 could be getting a makeover, thanks to the folks at Carbot Animation.

For those who might have watched some StarCraft videos on YouTube, you might have come across one by Carbot Animation that basically turned the entire game into a cartoon of sorts. However at that time the video was merely an animation and was not the real deal, at least until now where the creator of the video is turning it into an actual StarCraft 2 mod.

The game has been given a complete makeover and looks nothing like the original game, save for some parts of the interface. However beyond that, your units, the terrain, and the buildings have all been turned into cute cartoon drawings. In some way it actually makes it look even more fun!

Unfortunately there is no word on when they will be releasing the mod, but according to the YouTube video, they are planning on launching a Kickstarter campaign once the demo has been completed. In the meantime if you’re interested in seeing what they have so far, check out the video above for the details.
