temple-run-ngThere is nothing quite like bringing together the world of fiction as well as non-fiction under one roof, and that was achieved when Imangi Studios and National Geographic Kids teamed up to deliver Temple Run in a new manner – that is, via an educational action-adventure book. After all, Temple Run is an annoyingly successful mobile game that relies on your smartphone’s hardware to detect tilts to the left and right as you make your way through a slew of obstacles while being chased down by a pack of primates that are after human flesh. This new book will introduce young readers to the natural sciences, history and archaeology via the Temple Run world, and it is known as “Temple Run: Race Through Time to Unlock Secrets of Ancient Worlds.”

Such a title is available via the likes of Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the National Geographic store, where explorer Maria Selva, who happens to be one of the book’s protagonists, will also gain the honor of being introduced as a playable character in Temple Run 2 at the same time when the book is released.

Maria happens to be one of the first few instances where players are able to interact with a new game character simultaneously alongside his or her book debut. In “Temple Run: Race Through Time to Unlock Secrets of Ancient Worlds” will see Maria usher young readers and fans of the franchise through a journey that will encompass different iconic destinations throughout the world, ranging from Machu Picchu to Stonehenge.
