At its event yesterday Apple finally unveiled the two new iPhones that we had all heard so much about, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. As expected these models have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays respectively. Now that the new models have been unveiled its only a matter of time before customers try to get their hands on one. Some will try finding a good deal and Verizon is looking to tap into that crowd with its new iPhone 6 deal.

Verizon has announced that customers will receive a free 16GB iPhone 6 if they trade in their old iPhone and re-up the service contract for another two years. This will end up saving those customers $199 which is what they will have to pay upfront to get a 16GB iPhone 6 on a new service contract. Eligible devices for Verizon’s iPhone 6 deal count the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s among them.

Before you get your hopes up there’s no use in trying to find out if this deal is for the iPhone 6 Plus as well, the 5.5-inch model. Verizon has already confirmed that there is no such deal for the iPhone 6 Plus, those willing to trade in their old iPhones and sign up for a new contract will have to make do with the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

Both iPhone 6 models will be released on September 19th. Apple hopes to have the smartphone in more than 100 markets by the end of this year.
