xbox-one-hands-on-review-02If you happen to own the Xbox One, then you might be interested to hear that this is one particularly big month for the console, as Microsoft has rolled out a fair number of features that users have clamored for for a long while now – including the likes of better multitasking while gaming, in addition to additional methods to remain connected with friends, not to mention new options when it comes to accessing ones media content, among others. More features are now rolling out to Xbox Live members in the preview program, all the way over to the next week, delivering a couple of major themes with it.

For instance, there will be new Snap and Friends functions, allowing you to remain in the game while keeping in touch with your friends simultaneously using improved Snap, SmartGlass and Achievements functions.

The Snap Center has been updated to include quick access to the likes of Friends, Messages, Game DVR, clock, and battery indicator, all the while allowing it to be easier to close as well as open new snap apps when one plays a game. Apart from that, it takes a double tap of the Xbox button on your controller in order to open up a menu which would enable you to open a new app in snap mode, as well as close the current snapped app, or to switch focus between your game and your running snapped app.

Not only that, a couple of apps have also been optimized for Snap mode, including Friends Snap App and the Achievements App. There will also be Media Player DLNA and MKV support thrown into the mix, Live TV Trending, an Xbox One Digital TV Tuner, and a Live TV MiniGuide. [Press Release]
