lg-31-inch-digital-cinema-4k-monitorWith Full HD having been an industry standard for the past few years, we can only assume that 4K displays will become the next standard in display technology. So if you had your eye on a 4K display, you might be interested to learn that LG has recently announced a new 31-inch Digital Cinema 4K monitor which comes with a price tag of $1,400.

Some are debating the merits of owning such a monitor, especially since Apple has recently announced a new iMac with a 5K display that’s priced similarly and is a computer as well. Of course we expect that not everyone wants to run OS X and LG’s offering is larger by 4-inches, but if you’re not opposed to the OS X system, perhaps the iMac could prove to be a “cheaper” alternative.

Moving on, the LG 31-inch display will be compatible with Mac computers a will feature a Mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort, 2 HDMI ports, and three USB 3.0connections. The display will also feature Maxx Audio and Adobe RGB Color Space that will supposedly deliver brilliant image quality, color accuracy, and sharp images. As expected with its price tag, LG is marketing their new monitor to working professionals who might have need for such a display.

According to Hyoung-sei Park, head of the IT business division at LG Electronics, “This monitor’s high-end features and functions make it the perfect solution for professionals who require a top-of-the-line monitor with all the technology currently available.” The monitor will be available in the US, South Korea, Germany, Australia, and the UK this week, followed by the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, and Japan in November.
