Back in June Sledgehammer Games opened up pre-orders for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the new title that comes after CoD: Ghosts. Even though the game has been delayed beyond its original release date there’s still a lot of hype surrounding it primarily due to the fact that it brings some new elements to the franchise. If you were wondering about a cross-buy deal wonder no more, publisher Activision has confirmed it for digital purchases.

Folks who purchase a digital Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare copy on PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 will receive a free if they switch to next-gen consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. They won’t have to purchase the title again on the new console.

This cross-buy deal applies not only to the game, but also to any and all additional digital content as well as season pass. If these are purchased on previous generation consoles gamers will be able to download them on a new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One without having to pay once again.

There’s just one caveat though. This deal is valid for those who purchase a digital copy of this game until March 31st, 2015 after which the deal will no longer be offered. Gamers should also rest assured that their multiplayer stats, gear as well as game progress will carry over when they switch.
