gematsuThere are times when a particular gaming project would run only on nothing but the very best hardware, and in some cases, be the catalyst for the remainder of the market to catch up by purchasing a new console or making that long overdue graphics card upgrade. Dying Light happens to be one such title, where it has just been revealed that Dying Light will only arrive on the following platforms – the PC, Sony PS4 and Xbox One. As for those who have been looking forward to this particular title on your previous generation console platforms, do prepare to be disappointed.

Dead Island developer TechLand decided to ditch working on versions for older generation consoles like the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360, citing that the older consoles were not as powerful as TechLand would have liked to run this zombie centric title. TechLand shared, “After thorough internal testing, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to leave past-gen systems behind and release Dying Light exclusively on the next-gen consoles and PC.”

In other words, the older consoles did not have the processing firepower or muscle to be able to handle what the game offers, and this means it would fail to remain true to the core vision of Dying Light. I guess this is a good excuse as any to pick up either a PS4 or Xbox One if you haven’t done so already, right?
