Earlier this year Google acquired Songza for an undisclosed sum. We knew it was only a matter of time before Songza’s features were integrated into a Google product and today we get to see what Google has done with it. An update has been released for the Google Play Music app for Android, iOS and the web and it includes the best feature that Songza offered.

In case you’re wondering what that feature is, it is the ability to find music stations based on what you’re doing. So when you fire up the Google Play Music app the next time you will be able to play music for a specific time of day, an activity that you might be doing or a mood that you might be in.

Choosing an activity will give you options of several music stations that the app believes are relevant to that particular activity. The stations contains tracks that have been handpicked by Google’s team of music experts, which according to the company consists of “DJs, musicians, music critics and ethnomusicologists.”

The app will allow you to download these music stations for listening offline as well. It will also be possible to start a new station using any song that’s in the mix.

This feature is currently limited to subscribers in the U.S. and Canada only. The app update should download automatically on your device, if not, you can get it from the Google Play Store.
