desire-612HTC’s Desire series of Android smartphones tends to be more on the affordable side of things, and if you were looking forward to seeing HTC launch more Desire phones in the US, you might be interested to learn that Verizon could be getting ready to launch the HTC Desire 612.

This is thanks to a sighting in a support document (via Phandroid) on Verizon’s website in which the handset was spotted, and thanks to a little snooping, a full sized image like the one you can see above was found. Now this is definitely not the rumored HTC One M8 Eye that we have been hearing about since the design looks different.

Instead it is likely that the HTC Desire 612 could be based on the HTC Desire 610 which was announced a few months ago for AT&T, so presumably this could be the Verizon variant. Unfortunately the specs of the Desire 612 was not mentioned in the support documents, so it is unclear as to what we might expect.

However it should be noted that there is a difference in design between the HTC Desire 612 and the Desire 610, with the latter looking like a smaller version of the HTC One M8, but with its listing in Verizon’s support documents, we can only assume that an announcement/launch will be in the near future.
