htc-one-review-m8-labshot-04Android 5.0 Lollipop was recently announced a few hours ago and according to Google, it is expected to make its way out to other Nexus devices in the coming weeks, but what about non-Nexus devices? When will they get their updates? While some OEMs have remained mum on the issue, HTC has revealed when some of their products will be getting the Android 5.0 update.

Unsurprisingly the HTC One M8 and the HTC One M7 and according to HTC, both devices are scheduled to receive the update within 90 days of HTC receiving the final software from Google. We can’t be sure when exactly that is, but here’s hoping that HTC owners will be able to look forward to the update before the year is out.

As for other HTC devices, HTC has stated that they will be receiving the Android 5.0 update only after the HTC One M8 and the One M7 has received theirs. The update will be “followed shortly thereafter by other One family members and select devices.” Unfortunately HTC did not mention any devices specifically, but hopefully at the very least HTC’s 2014 handsets will be seeing the update, but we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information nonetheless so check back with us in the coming weeks/months for the details.
