htc eyeThere has been a lot of talk about HTC launching a new handset called the HTC One M8 Eye. The company is also hosting an event on the 8th of October and it has been speculated that the device could be announced then alongside what appears to be an action camera of sorts dubbed the “RE Camera”.

Well it looks like HTC has given up on being subtle because according to a recent tweet by HTC USA, they have pretty much confirmed that a new phone will be launching. The tweet shows a photo (pictured above) along with the caption that reads, “Don’t adjust your screen. Just focus on the date.”

The date in question points to the 8th of October which is when HTC will be holding their event, so we guess this more or less confirms that we have a new phone in the works. According to the rumors, the HTC One M8 Eye is said to be similar to the HTC One M8, however instead of an UltraPixel camera, it will sport a 13MP camera instead.

However there have also been talks about a HTC Desire Eye which sports a totally different design, but recent leaks have revealed a 13MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens and a front-facing flash. We’re not sure if that device will be announced as well but either way do check back with us on the 8th of October for the details.
