huawei-growthThe smartphone industry is said to be a cut throat one, where you definitely require to have a competitive edge before you are able to last for long. Huawei looks set to be in the long haul of things, having made the transition to being a major player by offering premium options, and they do have the statistics to back up their progress to the big time. In fact, 16.8 million smartphones were shipped in Q3 this year, where 26% of them happen to be within the mid-range to high-end devices. Overall, their smartphone business grew by 23% overall compared to the previous year, with 18% of it in its home country of China.

Apart from that, the company has also displayed some rather impressive growths where developing markets are concerned, and the Middle East and Africa happen to be exceptionally robust markets with shipments being up 322% in comparison to the previous year. The CEO of Huawei is confident that they happen to have an edge compared to the likes of Samsung in certain developing markets.

Do you think Huawei has what it takes to be able to duke it out with the rest of the big time players in the long run, or is this period of growth just an anomaly?
