android oem rankThe great thing about Android is that there are plenty of manufacturers to choose from. If you’re not happy with one brand, you’re more than welcome to explore a different brand for your next phone. Now we all know that Samsung is currently leading the way in terms of Android devices, but who’s next?

Could it be HTC? Motorola? ZTE? Lenovo? ASUS? LG? Well as it turns out, it looks like in terms of Android market share, both Samsung and LG take the cake. This is according to the recent stats released by Chitika which shows that Samsung is taking the majority slice of the pie at 57.4%, while LG comes in a very distant second at 10.4%.

While seemingly small, it seems that LG has experienced the largest growth amongst the Android OEMs by growing 1.7% from June 2014 to September 2014. Samsung by comparison only grew by 1%, but we suppose even then they’re still very much in the lead and don’t have to worry about LG catching up anytime soon.

Other OEMs like Motorola, HTC, Sony, and Huawei have actually seen a decrease in market share in the past few months. In fact sitting in third place is none other than Amazon, although we’re guessing this is thanks to their affordable Kindle Fire Android tablets rather than the Fire Phone, but what do you guys think? Are you surprised by the rankings?
