A couple of weeks back Microsoft unveiled a new Lumia smartphone which it dubbed “the first affordable flagship.” Microsoft has tried to provide high-end specifications in a thin and lightweight body with a price tag that’s not as high as other flagships that are available in the market today. The company had said that sales would begin in October and today it announced that the Lumia 830 has gone on sale in certain markets around the world.

The Lumia 830 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS with the Lumia Denim Update. It includes software features like Cortana, Microsoft Office, Live Tiles, Word Flow and Action Center. The smartphone also has a 10 megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics and the company’s “thinnest Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system to date.”

It also has a 5-inch 1280×720 pixel resolution display, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 0.9 megapixel wide-angle front camera, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and is available in four color options, orange, black, white and green.

The Lumia 830 will be available in China on October 13th. Its release on AT&T is expected to take place in the first week of November. In certain markets across Europe the device is available today for a MSRP of €330 which translates to roughly $410 off contract.
