office365_9When it comes to productivity software out there, the Microsoft suite of productivity apps is probably one of the most well-known collection of apps out there. There are alternatives, of course, but many have since come to associate Office with productivity software. However it seems that Microsoft’s Office of productivity suites could use an improvement, at least according to Bill Gates.

The co-founder of Microsoft had recently spoken in an interview with Bloomberg TV in which he revealed that he was working closely on improving Microsoft Office. Gates states that improving upon Office is a priority and one that Microsoft needs to tend to, and has listed improvements such as a touch optimized version of Office for Windows-based tablets or hybrid devices.

As it stands, such a version of Office has yet to be released, although it has since been released for the iPad and that a touch version for Android is said to be in the works and could be released ahead of the Windows version, which definitely does not sit well as Windows is clearly the dominating operating system.

We had also recently seen leaked screenshots of the alleged next-gen Microsoft Office. From what we can tell, there have been some visual changes made to the software, although we’re not sure what other changes Microsoft could have made under the hood, but what do you guys think? Could Microsoft Office stand to be improved? Or do you think that it’s already pretty good as it is?
