nexus6-foldersWe have been hearing rumors about the Motorola-made Nexus 6/Nexus X handset and we’re sure there are some customers who asking if the phone will be making its way onto carriers like Verizon. Well according to the folks at Pocketnow, the answer is yes. They have heard from their sources that with the Nexus 6, it could be making its way onto Verizon’s network.

This is interesting because apart from the Galaxy Nexus, Verizon had skipped the previous two Nexus handsets, the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5. It has been suggested that Google’s desire to make it more widely available on GSM networks is the reason why the Nexus handsets have typically skipped CDMA networks such as Verizon and Sprint.

However with the Nexus 6, it has been rumored to change. Pocketnow’s sources claim that Verizon is really looking forward to the Nexus 6, unlike the Nexus 7 which took quite a while to get it activated and up and running on Verizon’s network. Unfortunately apart from this rumor, not much else is known in terms of pricing or availability.

It is unclear if Verizon will be selling the phone on contract or if the Nexus 6 will just be made compatible with their network, but we guess we will just have to wait and see. With the Nexus 9 tablet pegged for October, perhaps there is a good chance we will find out more about the Nexus 6 then as well.
