nexus-7-2-review--016Earlier this week, Google unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop. The software was officially previewed earlier in the year, but this week Google announced its name, version, and that it would be released onto Nexus devices in the coming weeks. No specific dates were mentioned, unfortunately, but according to the folks at Android Police, perhaps the 3rd of November is a possibility.

Android Police claims to have heard from a reliable source that the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop will be taking place on the 3rd of November where it is expected to make its way onto the Nexus 7, both the 2012 and 2013 models, and the Nexus 10. It should be noted that all these devices are WiFi-only, so it seems that Google could be staggering the rollout based on that criteria.

As for cellular devices like the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, or the LTE version of the Nexus 7, it is expected to be pushed out in the later part of November, but unfortunately no specific dates were mentioned either. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but given that Android Police has had a pretty good track record with leaks and rumors, we suppose it is possible that their information checks out.

In any case we will also be keeping our eyes peeled for more information, so do check back with us in the coming weeks for more information regarding the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
