ps4delay-lackofgamesWhile video game consoles are available in China albeit via grey imports, it was recently that the Chinese government had officially lifted the ban. Microsoft was the first to the market with their Xbox One console, which has us wondering when could Sony’s PlayStation 4 be launched in China to compete with the Xbox One?

Well the good news for our readers in China who have been eyeing the console is that according to Sony’s Kaz Hirai and Andrew House, the PlayStation 4 will be arriving in the country soon. This was revealed during the Sony 2014 Expo which was held in Shanghai, China. Unfortunately no specific dates were mentioned, but hopefully it won’t be too long.

The idea of the PS4 making its way to China is not a new one and was revealed earlier this year, but we guess with the recent announcement that we can expect the console to be released in the near future. Now the question we’re sure many are wondering is how will it hold up against the Xbox One?

A survey conducted a few months ago revealed that Chinese gamers were more interested in the PS4 out of the consoles the survey listed. However the Xbox One is reported to be doing well in China unlike markets such as Japan where sales of the console were reported to have been disappointing.
