The PlayStation 4 Remote Play feature which is currently exclusive to the Sony Xperia Z3 lineup may soon be making its way to Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. Sony may have actually revealed this itself, inadvertently it seems, through the official Xperia Lounge app which mentions compatibility for the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Sony’s Xperia Lounge app is used to offer discounts, promotions, price cuts on Sony devices and more to customers. The PS4 Remote Play feature was initially announced for the latest Xperia Z3 lineup. This feature can be used to stream games through a PlayStation 4 console.

Sony’s decision to bring over this feature to the aforementioned Z2 devices won’t really surprise anyone given that they’re less than six months old anyway. However before users are able to fully take advantage of this feature they will require a GCM10 mount that costs $40 and a DualShock 4 controller which costs $60. Obviously a PlayStation 4 console is required as well.

Keep in mind though that Sony has not confirmed that PS4 Remote Play will be made available for Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet. The folks at XperiaBlog believe that this feature will probably be included in the impending Android 4.4.4 update that will be released in the near future for both of these devices.
