ps4-day-one-patch

A while back Sony first talked about the PS4 software update 2.0 and all of the features its going to bring. Earlier this week the company unveiled some new features which will be included in the update as well. Surely many PS4 owners out there are now waiting for this update to drop so that they can get to experience all that Sony has been working on for the past few months. Well today the company has finally confirmed the PS4 software update 2.0 release date.

The software update, codenamed “Masamune,” brings features like the ability to add themes, change background of the home screen, play own music during a game, interact with enhanced voice commands and even adds a dedicated YouTube application.

Share Play is a major feature included in PS4 which Sony has described as a “virtual couch.” It will allow gamers to invite their friends into a gameplay session even if they don’t own a copy of that game. They will be able to play as though they were in the same room. One can also invite a friend to jump into their game if they’re stuck at a particular level. The person invited can take control and play through the level as the screen is shared with them.

This, and lots more, comes as part of this software update. Sony has confirmed via Twitter today that the PS4 software update 2.0 release is going to take place on October 28th.
