samsung galaxy alpha

Over the past couple of months there have been countless rumors about Samsung working on three new Galaxy devices that will be based on the Galaxy Alpha. The Alpha brings a new design language from Samsung which includes chamfered-metal frame and the three devices from Samsung’s Galaxy A series are expected to be built along the same lines. A new report out of Korea suggests that the company may launch these devices next year.

To us these three devices are known as the Samsung Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. All three are believed to take their place in the mid-range section of the market where they can be pitted against other relatively cheaper Android devices from the likes of Xiaomi.

For example, the Samsung Galaxy A3 is rumored to have a Snapdragon 410 processor at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 4.5-inch display with 540×960 resolution. Those who desire some power won’t be left out as the Galaxy A7 is expected to feature a 1080×1920 pixel resolution display at 5.2-inches, with a Snapdragon 615 SoC at 1.5GH coupled with 2GB of RAM.

Rumor has it that Samsung will price these devices between $350 and $499. Initially the Galaxy A series is only expected to be released in China and so far Samsung has not confirmed of any plans to take these three devices around the world. Korea IT Times reports that Samsung will be launching these devices first in China where they should compete with similar devices from the likes of Xiaomi.

Even though the price tag may be a bit higher as opposed to Xiaomi devices, perhaps Samsung thinks that its brand recognition is also a privilege worth paying a little extra for.
