note-4-dev-edition-verizon-640x360If you’re a developer looking to create apps on Android devices and you need a device for testing purposes, you might want to check out developer edition devices which have been created for that purpose. Well if you wanted a high-end handset to test your apps on, you might be interested to learn that Verizon has recently launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition.

As expected, the handset is sold off-contract meaning that you will have to pay full retail price for it which has been priced at $662.53, admittedly a lot more expensive than if you were to buy it at a subsidized price. However we guess this could appeal to non-developers too who might not be fans of being tied to contracts and who also want an unlocked bootloader right out of the box.

Unlocked bootloaders, for those unfamiliar, will allow users to install custom ROMs, such as CyanogenMod, for example. That being said, the developer edition Galaxy Note 4 will remain the same internally as its regular counterpart. This means that users can expect a 5.7-inch QHD display, S Pen support, and a 16MP rear-facing camera with Optical Image Stabilization, just to name a few of its features. If you’d like to place your order, you can do so by heading on over to Samsung’s website.
