When the Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone was unveiled recently it was reported that the device would soon make its way to T-Mobile. Today Magenta has officially confirmed that it will indeed be selling the Xperia Z3 to new and existing customers. Starting October 20th the Sony Xperia Z3 will be available through T-Mobile’s website and retail stores for $0 down.

Since Magenta doesn’t bind its customers to a conventional service contract they will instead have to opt for an equipment installment plan. So even if they don’t have to pay anything upfront they will have to make equal monthly payments of $26.25 for 24 months just to pay off the cost of this smartphone. Customers who don’t want to get stuck with the equipment installment plan can pay $630 to purchase the device outright.

Underneath the Sony Xperia Z3’s 5.2-inch 1080p screen resides a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and a 3,100mAh battery. There’s a 20.7 megapixel camera on the back. In true Sony fashion this smartphone happens to be IP68 dust and water resistant.

T-Mobile will be conducting a pre-sale online which opens up on October 15th at 12:00 am PDT. Customers will be able to purchase their units then and there’s also a possibility that these units might begin shipping even before the national launch on October 29th.
