Carriers are battling it out these days over family plans and Sprint today announced a new offering that may entice low-end data users. For $20 the carrier is now offering 1GB of share data allowance with the Sprint Family Share Pack. The third largest wireless carrier unders its rivals Verizon and AT&T with this latest offering, since the former only offers 500MB data at this price and the latter only 300MB.

For $20 per month the 1GB shared data allowance can be added to the Sprint Family Share Pack, and the allowance can be shared across up to ten lines.

The carrier also has an offer for customers to bring their number over to Sprint, a family that has up to ten lines can receive 20GB of shared data as well as unlimited talk and text for $100 per month.

Sprint has introduced this data offer under its “double the data” campaign through which it is trying hard to bring over new subscribers from rival networks. Price cuts and better data offerings are just some of the ways Sprint is using to bring over more subscribers.

This data allowance may not seem much to subscribers who use a lot of data intensive applications and services, but it is the right option for those who rarely use mobile data. Interested Sprint customers, new and existing, can jump on this plan starting today.
