There’s some good news for you today if you happen to own a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition with LTE on T-Mobile because the carrier is pushing out an update that will bring this tablet up to the latest version of Android. No its not Android 5.0 Lollipop, its version 4.4.4 KitKat. Lollipop won’t be released for unlocked Nexus devices until later this month so it will take considerable time for this release to be available for carrier locked devices from other OEMs.

This release is not totally insignificant though. The Wi-Fi only variant of this tablet is yet to receive Android 4.4.4 and if history is any indication usually Wi-Fi only models are the first to receive a new update. This time around though T-Mobile has released the update for the LTE version first, even before Android 4.4.4 made its way to the Wi-Fi only model.

Any and all fixes and improvements made between Android 4.4.2 and Android 4.4.4 are part and parcel of this update. They may only be nominal in nature but the update does include some rather important security fixes so it is imperative that you download the update on your tablet when it becomes available.

Even if the update hasn’t popped up on your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 as yet worry not as it will become available soon, these things take time to roll out across the country.
