We reported yesterday that T-Mobile will soon release a software update for its HTC One (M8) variant and today the carrier has rolled out Android 4.4.4. Apart from bringing everything that comes as part and parcel of Android 4.4.4 this particular update brings camera features exclusive to HTC’s Android flagship. Called the “Eye Experience,” several new camera features have been added to the device through this update.

It was only a couple of months back when HTC confirmed that the Eye Experience will be brought over to other devices as well through software updates. We see the fulfillment of that promise in this latest release for T-Mobile HTC One (M8).

Face Tracking is a useful feature that is included in this update. It allows the camera to track up to four faces at once during a video chat and relay them to the recipient in a split screen. Face Fusion allows users to fuse their face with that of another person. Split Capture is yet another important feature which allows users to record feeds from both the front and rear camera.

T-Mobile pushes out the software update in waves so it may take a while before it lands on your device. The Android 4.4.4 update weighs in at 256MB so be sure to connect to a decent Wi-Fi network before downloading it.
