Smart cocktail shakers, robot baristas, app-controlled coffee machines – could this be the future of our household products and appliances? We suppose it could be and a Kickstarter project for a device called Arist could be a sign of things to come. Arist is basically a coffee machine that is similar to the Bruvelo coffee machine we covered the other day.

The idea is to allow the machine to perform all the necessary functions of making coffee, thus resulting in a brew of good quality that could have otherwise been screwed up due to human error. The Arist will be able to grind beans, pour shots, and will also be able to fine tune certain details such as water temperature, and for those who like their coffee sweet, will be able to adjust syrup quantity as well.

The Arist will take things one step further thanks to NFC stickers which can be affixed to cups. With the NFC stickers, the machine will be able to recognize cups so if you enjoy a latte but your partner enjoys a macchiato, the machine will be able to recognize the cups and create the appropriate drinks.

Will the Arist be able to brew a cup of coffee that will match that of a skilled barista? Well we guess we’ll just have to wait and see, but for those who’d rather not go through the hassle of making their own coffee, perhaps this is a Kickstarter project worth funding, so head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
