white-houseIt does look as though there really isn’t any kind of safe haven available when it comes to the digital world. Word has it that there has been a security breach on an unclassified computer network that was utilized by President’s Obama’s senior staff, at least according to the folks over at The New York Times. So far, the motive behind this particular attack has not been revealed, either that or additional details on the situation have not been discovered.

According to the White House administration, this particular attack “did not appear to be aimed at destruction of either data or hardware, or to take over other systems at the White House.” That is a relief to know, don’t you think so?

It looked as though the hacker(s) were simply probing and mapping around the unclassified White House systems. In a not too distant report, it was mentioned that hackers who have attacked JPMorgan as well as other financial institutions might have been probing for information concerning the different security measures that were utilized by such financial institutions, which could eventually be used for attacks down the road. You might want to be more careful with all of your online transactions – after all, if the White House is not safe, no where else ought to be safe, too.
