wow dungeonBlizzard’s World of Warcraft will be turning 10 years old next month. That is a pretty impressive age for an MMORPG which has seen a decline in subscribers over the years, although having over 7 million active subscribers is still an impressive feat nonetheless and nothing to snub our noses at.

That being said, how long more can Blizzard continue pushing out content? Could World of Warcraft be reaching the end of its days? Well apparently not. Speaking to PC Gamer, World of Warcraft’s lead game designer Ion Hazzikostas expressed his belief that the game still had another 10 years ahead of it.

When asked if he could see the game progressing another 10 years, Hazzikostas replied by saying, “Yes, without a question. I can’t tell you exactly what our 20th anniversary celebration event is going to be–maybe new content which hasn’t been created–but I can tell you there’s going to be one.”

This is an interesting stance given that a couple of month’s ago, Blizzard’s Tom Chilton stated that he wasn’t very optimistic about the game’s subscriber base growing. However with Blizzard cancelling their next-gen MMORPG Project Titan, we guess Blizzard will have to rely on World of Warcraft as their cash cow for now.

Blizzard has expressed their interest at trying to make World of Warcraft appealing in the eSports scene but what will come of that remains to be seen, but what do you guys think? How many more years do you think World of Warcraft has left in it before Blizzard finally calls it quits?
