xbox oneFor quite a while now, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has managed to outsell the Xbox One, but it looks like things could slowly be looking up for Microsoft. According to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, he has predicted that as far as the US market for the month of September is concerned, the Xbox One could have very well outsold the PlayStation 4.

Pachter has forecasted around 325,000 Xbox One units sold for the month of September, versus the 250,000 units for the PlayStation 4. Granted this is an uptick towards the end of the year and probably won’t help with the earlier part of the year, it’s still a good sign for Microsoft, especially so near the holiday season.

According to Pachter, Microsoft’s strategy of offering a free game with the purchase of an Xbox One helped to boost the console’s sales, especially during the week in which Destiny was released. This isn’t the first time Microsoft has beaten out Sony, although last we heard it was in the UK where the Xbox One outsold the PlayStation 4.

Microsoft’s early pricing of the console is probably to blame for their initial sales where it was priced $100 higher than the competition. Microsoft has since lowered the price to match the PlayStation 4, but here’s hoping it’s not too little too late.
