skype-doodling

It really doesn’t surprise anyone that some of the newest features for Skype are initially only limited to the Windows Phone platform, seeing as how both are the property of Microsoft. The latest feature is no exception. Skype for Windows Phone has been updated with a new feature that allows users to doodle on a canvas and then send it over to their contacts.

The feature itself is nothing new. Other messaging clients have had it for a long time now but this is the first time that Microsoft has brought this feature to its messaging service. The canvas can be used for doodling, adding ink to photos and even annotating on screenshots and such.

So far Microsoft has not confirmed whether or not this feature will be added to the Android and iOS applications as well, at this point in time the feature is limited to Windows Phone. One can only assume that it may be a matter of time before doodling support lands on other mobile platforms supported by Skype.

That’s not all this update has to offer though. There’s support for HD screens, option to automatically sign into Skype using Microsoft Account linked to the device and improved app resume time.

The latest Skype update for Windows Phone is available as a free download right away from the Windows Store.
