ascend p8Earlier this year Huawei officially announced the Ascend P7 handset which is why it is not hard to believe that Huawei could be potentially working on its successor, the Huawei Ascend P8. Now we can only assume that the handset will be launched next year around the same time as the Ascend P7, or maybe Huawei could take advantage of MWC to make an earlier announcement.

However until we hear otherwise, a recent report from MyDrivers (via PhoneArena) has potentially revealed an alleged photo of the upcoming handset. Now according to MyDrivers, they claim that the handset is currently being tested by Huawei internally. They are also claiming that the body of the phone will be made from materials such as metal and ceramic which should provide for a rather interesting feel.

Now as far as the specs are concerned, MyDrivers claim that the phone will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD display which could be tapered at the edges, similar to what Apple has done for the iPhone 6. They also claim that the Ascend P8 could potentially be powered by the Kirin 930 octa-core processor which seems suspect as the chipset has been pegged for a late 2015 release.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you were impressed with the Ascend P7’s performance and price, perhaps the Ascend P8 could be worth keeping an eye out on, so do check back with us at a later date for the details!
