Amazon already offers a huge library of movies, TV shows and documentaries through its online video streaming service but it has dabbled in original content as well. Not wanting to be left behind by rivals like Netflix, which created some of the most popular shows like House of Cards, Amazon invested in making its own shows and next year it has seven new ones for viewers to choose from.

The company has taken a slightly different approach to original content as opposed to its rivals. They make the original shows that they want whereas Amazon decides viewers will have a say in what gets picked up for a full season.

So next year Amazon is going to release seven pilots of new shows which will be provided for free via the Amazon Instant Video app on iOS, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, Wii as well as various other connected devices like smart TVs. Amazon will only make full seasons of those pilots that receive the most positive feedback from viewers.

This will be Amazon’s first pilot season of 2015 and the company expects to have it out by early next year. The entire list of these seven new pilots, include details about plots and the cast, is available on Amazon’s website.
