amazon-logo-largeWhen it comes to the world of delivery, there is definitely one name that would pop up from time to time in people’s minds – and that name would be Amazon. In fact, this is a company that has reportedly tested out its eighth generation delivery drones already, despite the fact that using drones to deliver items has not quite caught on big time yet, not to mention the different kinds of hurdles that it has to overcome in the form of red tape and privacy issues along the way. Apparently, Amazon could eventually explore the possibility of helping taxi drivers earn more income on the side – by using taxis to assist it in its delivery service.

Of course, seeing a yellow taxi pull up at your front door with your most recent order is definitely not going to be as exciting as having a drone hover in your yard and dropping whatever package it was carrying addressed to you. The Wall Street Journal claims that Amazon will make use of Flywheel’s taxi service when it comes to one-hour deliveries in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and there is also a possibility of having Amazon see different ways of taking more advantage of taxi deliveries. Time will tell whether they will test out taxi deliveries in the future in markets other than those two mention.
