When Android 5.0 Lollipop was confirmed, HTC also announced that their devices like the HTC One M8 would be receiving the update, although the company did not mention when specifically save that it will be a few weeks after the update has been released for Nexus devices. Given that Google announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop would be rolling out, HTC has since announced that the countdown to the update has begun.

This was confirmed on Twitter where HTC officially stated that the update will be pushed out to devices like the HTC One M8 and the HTC One M7 within a 90-day timeframe. Of course this will be subject to testing and approval from carriers as well, but hopefully HTC owners won’t have to wait beyond the 90-day window.

Other companies have yet to officially confirm when the update will be arriving on their phones, but so far we have heard confirmations that companies such as Samsung, LG, and Motorola will be bringing the update to their devices, it’s just a question of when. In any case we will definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding its release, so do check back with us in the next couple of weeks for more information!
