Android_Wear_5.0_Theater_mode1-640x213Do you feel that perhaps Google’s Android Wear is a bit lacking? That perhaps it could do with additional features and improvements? Well if you feel that way, it’s hardly surprising as Android Wear is still in its early stages. The good news is that if you were looking forward to improvements and changes, you might be pleased to learn that with Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google will be making some improvements to the Android Wear platform.

Android_Wear_5.0_Lollipop_Accessibility-640x213This is thanks to the folks at Phandroid who have managed to get their hands on some screenshots and details regarding the upcoming update that Android 5.0 will be making to Android Wear. For starters, Google has finally addressed the issue of screen brightness by introducing two new modes – Theater mode which will dim the screen’s brightness so that it doesn’t distract other moviegoers; and Sunlight mode that will crank the brightness to make it more legible under direct sunlight.

These options can be easily accessed by swiping down on your watch, thus providing you with a quick way to make the changes. Google has also made improvements to Android Wear for those with visual impairments. The new accessibility features will allow users to increase the size of the text, color inversion, as well as providing magnification gestures. No word on when the update will be making its way to Android Wear, but we’ll keep an eye out for it.
