Canon 5D MK II

Canon 5D MK II

Both the Canon EOS 5D MK III and EOS 1D X were announced in 2012 and according to earlier rumors, it has been suggested that the replacement models for both cameras could be arriving in 2012. While we can’t be 100% sure of these rumors, a recent report from Northlight Images has given us a rough timeframe.

According to the report, the successor to the EOS 5D MK III and the EOS 1D X will be announced in the early part of 2015. It has been speculated that perhaps an announcement at CES 2015 is a possibility and this will happen in January 2015. Alternatively an announcement at CP+ is also another possibility as this will happen in early February 2015.

The report claims that the EOS 1D X MK II will be announced first followed by the EOS 5D MK IV, although the former camera is said to be shipping later in the year, despite it being announced in the early part of 2015. Unfortunately apart from those rumors, it is unclear as to what sort of specs we could be looking at.

In any case do take it with a grain of salt for now but it is safe to say that CES and CP+ will bring about a host of new photography-related products. Whether or not it will be the cameras mentioned above remains to be seen, but do check back with us then for the details!
