Don’t panic if you’re unable to access Destiny tomorrow. Developer Bungie has confirmed that the game will go offline tomorrow for four hours because of scheduled maintenance. In a blog post the developer has explained what it will be doing in these four hours and what gamers can expect once the game goes live again.

The scheduled maintenance isn’t going to knock off only the online features of Destiny. You will not be able to play Destiny at all so keep that in mind if you plan on taking your Guardian out for a spin tomorrow.

Bungie needs to perform this maintenance in order to pave the way for a series of updates that are planned to release over the next few weeks, this includes The Dark Below expansion which will be released in December. Bungie does say that it is sorry about this interruption.

As far what gamers can expect when Destiny comes back, well, their experience as a player will remain unchanged. Since the updates are being made on the server side, you will not be required to download an update or a batch of content.

Destiny will go down around 8am Pacific tomorrow and will hopefully be back again by, or shortly after, Noon. At least that’s the amount of time Bungie thinks it needs, barring any unforeseen issues.
