macbook-pro-15-retina-13While OS X Yosemite brought a lot of new features and visual updates to the OS X platform, it seems to have brought about a host of problems as well. We have heard reports of using complaining about WiFi issues after updating to Yosemite, and recently there have been reports about a security vulnerability as well.

It looks like the problems with Yosemite are growing because according to a new reports, it seems that users who own the early Retina MacBook Pros are complaining about graphical issues with their laptops after they have upgraded to Yosemite. The MacBook Pro can switch between its discrete GPU or the onboard one depending on the task at hand.

This is a feature meant to help conserve battery when the laptop is used for non-intensive tasks, but it seems that improper switching has led to users complaining of mild cases of text entry issues, or in some cases which are a bit more extreme, crashing as well. MacNN has confirmed that their source has told them that there has been a slight increase in graphical problems since the release of Yosemite.

Their source also told them that users should resort to the workarounds until Apple can officially address the issue. Workarounds include either forcing the computer to use the integrated GPU, or alternatively you could force the MacBook Pro to use the discrete GPU at all times which could lead to a shorter battery life.
