Back in 2013, Parrot unveiled the Flower Power wireless sensor. For those unfamiliar, the Flower Power wireless sensor is a sensor designed to target those who us who spend a lot of time in the garden cultivating plants. After all there is a lot more to it than just pouring water on them and hoping that they will grow healthy and luscious.

That being said, Flower Power was previously only available on iOS devices, but the good news is that Android users with green thumbs will be pleased to learn that it has finally been made compatible with Android devices. How it works is that users just need to stick the device into the soil and let its four sensors do the work.

The sensor will be able to monitor air temperature, sunlight, soil, and fertiliser level, and from there it will be able to make recommendations to the user as to what they should do to optimize their plant’s growth. This will be based on its database of over 7,000 plants, trees, and vegetables, so whether you’re growing just for aesthetics or if you want to cultivate a vegetable garden, the Flower Power sensor should do the trick.

The app will pair with your smartphone over WiFi/cellular connectivity which means that you should be able to check up on your plant’s growth even when you’re away on holiday in a different country, so you can always reach out to a friend or family member to tend to your plants when needed.
