Gionee-Marathon-M3So, you think that the Motorola Droid Turbo is the champion when it comes to having the highest capacity battery in a smartphone? Enter the name Gionee, what with their Marathon M3. The Gionee Marathon M3 certainly intends to live up to its prodigious name with a 5,000 mAh battery packed underneath the hood, clearly making it the winner against the 3,900 mAh battery that accompanies the Motorola Droid Turbo.

All of that juice might make one think that the smartphone is going to be rather thick, not to mention bulky, but you will be pleased to know that this 5” smartphone measures all of just 10.4mm thin, which is extremely reasonable by any standards. Trust Gionee to come up with a thin chassis design – after all, they were a one time holder of the world’s thinnest smartphone with the Gionee Elife S5.1 that measured just 5.1mm thin.

The Marathon M3 will target the Indian market, costing approximately $210 after conversion, but despite being powered by Android, it will not come with any Google services. Other hardware specifications include a 720p LCD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, dual SIM capability, a quad-core MediaTek processor, and 3G band support.
